Our Story
Where It All Began
Yoong and Kurt traveled to Vietnam in 2008 with no familiarity with Vietnamese cuisine. Whilst on the hunt to find some comfort in western food, they stumbled across a Pho restaurant and decided to take a leap of faith and try it out.
After that amazing experience, Yoong and Kurt got hooked on Pho coming back to this restaurant – sometimes twice in one day
After their travels, they came back with an idea to run their own version of that Pho restaurant in New Zealand. 10 years past – Yoong and Kurt thought this was the perfect time to start planning and building this dream Pho restaurant.
The name Pho Mo came about to play on the common phrase FOMO (fear of missing out). We think it’s pretty clever. Pho Mo is a creation of modern Vietnamese street food alongside other Asian styles.
After two years of planning, Pho Mo now is a hotspot in the heart of Wellington. Come and try some of our simple yet delicious meals. You can find us at 62 Dixon Street (across from the Te Auaha campus).
